Job description

The Membership Manager is responsible for developing a long-term membership strategy and meeting our existing members and listen what they are looking for, understand what they need and discuss how we can strengthen our cooperation. The candidate is continuously looking for opportunities to build relationships and creative in tailoring and promoting membership. Full-time position. Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Membership development andretention:

Development/prospecting:

  • Meet members and develop a strategic plan how to reach the next level in the way we work together with our members.
  • Contact and meet potential members. Plan meetings for/together with GM to meet potential members and prepare materials for visits to/from potential members(promotion material, publications, contactdetails of visited person and the company).
  • Make reporting on a regular basis to the GM/Board of Directors on the statistics related to prospecting/new memberships.

Follow up new/renewed members

  • Keep track of new and renewedmembership
  • Follow up on new and renewed members, such as drafting and sending out new & renewal membership documents, emails, invoices, on-line follow-ups, database updates, publication in monthly newsletter, etc.
  • Upload member’s information/data on backend indatabase
  • Cooperate with other chapters for new and renewed nationalmemberships
  • Make reporting on a regular basis to the GM / Board of Directors on the statistics related to new and renewedmembers

Retention

  • Plays a vital role in delivering member benefits, activities and events. Has a direct focus on servicing member requirements as well as increasing member relations, tracking of membership interests and acting to ensure BenCham Shanghai's membership privileges are met and surpassed.
  • To maintain added-value relationships with member company employees and respond actively & professionally to their needs and requirements.
  • Pro-actively connect members and provide matchmaking between members to assist in the establishment of business cooperation.
  • Present to the GM and board a development strategy for membership retention, asking input from GM and the other team members in Shanghai and colleagues in Beijing andPRD.
  • Join events to meet (potential)members

Qualifications

  • Full professional proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese 
  • Additional language will be considered an asset, preferably Dutch and/or French 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team player
  • Results and detail driven, self-motivated and energetic 
  • Ability to take initiatives & committed to the work
  • Effective and efficient time & task management
  • Sales, service and/or marketing background is a big plus
  • Computer literacy (Office), Photo Shop and CRM experience is a big plus
