Client Development Advisor - China Academy
- Bachelor's degree; Master's degree is a plus
- 5-8 years of business development experience; education and HR experience preferred
- Comfort interacting with senior HR executives and senior leadership
- Effective interpersonal communication and influencing skills; basic client development skills
- Interest in corporate training industry and leading innovative client development
- Ability to collaborate effectively particularly in stressful situations

China Academy is one of McKinsey’s most exciting new ventures devoted to developing online/offline capability building solutions for Chinese companies, with the vision to help our clients at scale, not only enable senior leadership, but also mid-level and/or frontline management, to improve capability and unlock organization potential.
The mission and impact aspiration of the team is to enlarge client and user base of China Academy training courses by developing client proactively and reactively, with particular emphasis on proposal for core clients (ie, renowned industry players who can confirm 1,000+ user every year).
What You'll Do
You’ll build broad client network and develop a solid business pipeline in China, identify business opportunities and secure online/offline training deals by leading client meetings, preparation of business proposals and marketing events.
In this role you’ll educate and manage business development vendors to ensure productivity and compliance, which includes reviewing vendor’s business development client lists, business development statuses, material preparation and training to the vendors.
You’ll identify new business opportunities based on the demands of potential clients, and will facilitate and support product development teams to build core competence of our China Academy continuously. You’ll lead and manage China Academy’s in-house business development team and be responsible for key account business development. You’ll also work closely with client project teams to identify and deliver learning and development programs with impact by leveraging both the online/offline training products of our China Academy and global McKinsey academy (if necessary).
You’ll organize offline workshops, deliver end-to-end workshops to clients and will be responsible for faculty and material preparation. You’ll build and develop China Academy’s offline workshop faculty pool with both inhouse consultant and McKinsey’s alumni and will strengthen the core competence of China Academy continuously by effective knowledge management and best practice sharing.
