Client Development Specialist - China Academy
- Bachelor's degree; master's degree is a plus
- 3-5 years of HR & consulting experience
- Interest in corporate training industry and leading innovative client development
- Effective interpersonal communication and influencing skills; basic client development skills
- Comfortable communicating with senior HR executives and senior leadership
- Entrepreneurial and results-driven

You will be based in our Beijing or Shanghai office as part of China Academy.
China Academy is one of McKinsey’s most exciting new ventures devoted to developing online/offline capability building solutions for Chinese companies with the vision to help our clients at scale, not only enable senior leadership, but also mid-level and/or frontline management, to improve capability and unlock organization potential.
The mission and impact aspiration of the team is to enlarge client and user base of China Academy training courses by developing client proactively and reactively, with particular emphasis on proposal for core clients (ie, renowned industry players who can confirm 1,000+ user every year); generate client leads outside of existing CSTs and deliver McKinsey-standard client service to these non-CST clients; develop GTM structure and operating model for China Academy and codify the best practice to upgrade client development effectiveness; establish and maintain external client/expert network among senior HR executives and continuously build China Academy reputation; develop practice proposal assets to bring the best of the Firm & Academy to our proposals, e.g., training courses from China Academy, Ops Academy, RTS Academy and Aberkyn; and lead and expand Client Development team for China Academy.
What You'll Do
You will lead new client development through non-CST channels with focus on developing core clients (1,000+ users with standard ASP).
In this role, you will maintain client relationship and continue to expand the client network. You will support client roadshows or other reach & relevance activities for China Academy. You will work closely with the China Academy operation team to complete client development processes including leads generation, proposal preparation, contract negotiation and confirmation.
You will also work closely with the China Academy solution team to deliver the best content into proposal and also to provide immediate client feedback to improve course quality. You will design GTM structure and operating model by organizing PS sessions with academy leaders and solution and client development teams.
You will build connection with multiple academy teams in the firm and proactively bring the firm’s solution to clients who may need it including Ops Academy, RTS Academy and Aberkyn. You will improve quality of client proposal and enhance library proposal assets such as template, innovative examples, client reference videos, case studies and codified supporting materials for future client development. You will partially or temporarily support the development or localization of a specific product line (e.g. A2E courses).
