Purpose of the Role

Sr Sales & Business Development Manager for Ahlers Trade Facilitation & After Sales Services Business Unit will actively develop sales opportunities by hunting Multinational Enterprises who have a ‘Vision for Growth’ of their revenues in China, through organizing in a different way their Route-To-Market with all the needed services for that, such as warehousing, transportation, customs, local back-office, local order handling, accounting and other value-added services. Target companies are Multinational premium brands who are headquartered in Europe and US with having local presence and sales in China - Asia.

 

Work Description, generating Sales

  • Promote the vision and strategy of the company by keeping a strong pulse on customer- and local market developments.
  • Respond fast and effectively to local market changes and opportunities in China/Asia.
  • Identify, hunt and create new business opportunities focused on Supply Chain- and Business-Process-Outsourcing by leveraging customer’s needs.
  • Achieve sales objectives through identifying and attracting new customers for Trade Facilitation solutions, such import/export, order to cash, accounting, legal and other accompanying services
  • Effectively plan and organize meetings with local prospects on C-level in China.
  • Participate in Trade shows, Seminars and other Networking events in China.
  • Establish and maintain locally in China business relationships with Business Associations, Chambers of Commerce, Embassies and other Business Partnerships with companies who will generate sales opportunities in China.

 

Work Description, general tasks

  • Drive the consultative selling of Trade Facilitation Services and Supply Chain solutions.
  • Being the trusted advisor locally in China for Multinational companies from Europe and US.
  • Generate new service ideas and facilitate development of new services.
  • Participating in creating marketing strategies and analyzing the channels efficiency.
  • Generate, qualify and manage leads & opportunities and accurate work with the CRM-tool.
  • Provide accurate and verified data for sales forecasts and sales plans.
  • Efficiently define service margins using quotations prepared by local operations – in accordance with the local pricing policy.
  • Influence Ahlers’ senior management, gain commitment and support for proposed ideas and handle objections through solid reasoning.
  • Initiating the customer integration process with local Teams.

Personal and/or Economical responsibilities

The role is responsible for achieving growth and accomplishing targets on new sales.

Reporting to

Director Sales & Business Development.

Location

Shanghai.

Travelling

Business trips are part of the position.

Requirements:

Education

University degree, preferably within business management or logistics.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years successful consultative hunting sales experience in International company in China
  • Practical experience in selling to C-level
  • At least 10 years experience in working with complex (supply chain) clients or processes
  • Good knowledge of modern warehousing services and multinational transport processes
  • Ability to build effective relations at all levels in the company
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a competitive business environment
  • Good knowledge of Chinese business environment or at least 3 years track record of working in China
  • Good (upper – intermediate) level of business English

Meriting
