Author: Shanghai BenCham

We are sharing the following invitation on behalf of Safa Elkhallouki, a Belgian master’s student of China Studies at Zhejiang University International Business School, who is conducting thesis research on workplace relationships in foreign multinational companies operating in China.

As part of her academic research, Safa invites professionals working in foreign multinational companies (MNCs) in China to participate in an anonymous online survey examining supervisor–subordinate guanxi and its relationship with performance management outcomes in a cross-cultural organisational context.

By sharing your experience, you will contribute to a better academic and practical understanding of how workplace relationships function within foreign MNCs in China.

Who can participate?

Professionals who meet all of the following criteria:

  • Employed by a foreign multinational company operating in China
  • Holding a full-time position with at least one year of tenure
  • Either the participant or their direct supervisor is of Chinese nationality

About the survey

  • Duration: approximately 6 minutes
  • Languages: English and Chinese
  • Participation is voluntary and anonymous
  • Participants may withdraw at any time by closing the browser
  • All data will be used solely for academic purposes and deleted after the completion of the thesis

As a small token of appreciation, participants will have the option to leave their contact details via a separate follow-up form at the end of the survey to receive a modest compensation. Survey responses and contact details are not linked.

Please note that this study is conducted independently by the researcher as part of her master’s thesis. Our organisation is merely supporting the dissemination of this research invitation and is not involved in the data collection, analysis, or use of the results.
