Belgian Culture Exchange by the Chamber and Flanders Investment & Trade
On the afternoon of April 28th, with the strong support of the operators of the Dongjiao Memory and National Geographic Classic Image Exhibition, a cultural and artistic exchange event between China and Belgium was held. Important guests, including the Frank Van Eynde (Belgian (Flanders) Economic Consul in Shanghai), Jonathan Xu (Benelux Chamber Team Member), representatives from Belgian brands, and representatives from Chinese and Belgian enterprises attended the event, and the Chengdu Service Trade Association was also invited to participate in this cultural and artistic exchange feast.
Culture as a universal language
Before the event, the participants visited the National Geographic Classic Image Exhibition together. This exhibition in Chengdu collected over 130 years of global classics, from the beauty of nature to human culture and technology, from the smallest details to the vast universe, leading visitors to experience a more rich and unique visual experience while enjoying the exhibits. This cross-cultural experience left a deep impression on everyone and injected new vitality into our cultural exchange.
Subsequently, Frank, the commercial consul of the Belgian Consulate in Shanghai, shared the rich cultural heritage of Belgian cities. Belgium is one of the world's top ten commodity import and export countries, not only with a complete industrial system but also with a strong artistic and cultural background and modern fashion atmosphere. He hopes to deepen cooperation between the two places, use Chengdu as a pivot to deepen the market in western China, and drive the complementary and win-win development of advantageous industries and enterprises in both places.
Several important guests were also invited to share their insights at the event. Mr. Chen Guanfu, a member of the Sichuan Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Vice-Secretary-General of the Sichuan Artists Association Art Education Special Committee, and a specially appointed painter at Tsinghua University Cuiting Hall, shared his unique insights into the differences between Chinese and Western art.
Ms. Shi Anping, a member of the Chenghua District Political Consultative Conference and the executive director of the Qiaohai Liaison Committee of the Chengdu Overseas Chinese Public Party, expressed her hope that through such cultural and artistic exchange activities, she could promote the continuous deepening of Sino-Belgian cultural and artistic cooperation and friendly relations.
Mr. Luo Yun, a national first-class artist and representative of the first batch of Ba-Shu Painting School's influence, gave a brilliant sharing on artistic creation.
In addition, Mr. Luo Zheng, the person in charge of the Belgian National (Commodity) Pavilion, and Mr. Zeng Su, a representative of the Economic Development Bureau of the Province of Walloon Brabant, shared their insights on Belgium's representative food and local cosmetic categories. Cultural enthusiasts at the event were free to taste and exchange.

Chengdu and Belgium have frequent interactions, and cooperation in various aspects such as the construction of sister cities, project docking, and cultural exchange is steadily advancing.
