Benelux Chamber of Commerce Hosts VIVES Delegation in Shanghai
On March 24, the Benelux Chamber of Commerce organized various activities for Governor Mr. Carl Decaluwe , who is currently visiting East China with a delegation of no less than 140 students and 15 lecturers from VIVES University of Applied Sciences.
On Monday morning, the Chamber welcomed this delegation by organizing 5 industry-focused seminars, all running at the same time! A big shout out to our team members and interns Jonathan Xu, Kim Steen, Gaspard Wery and Zhou De Vreese for coordinating and attending each of these seminars.
These seminars featured our Chamber’s member companies who shared their expertise and knowledge: Crowne Plaza® Hotels & Resorts featured General Manager Tony Geerts who hosted and led a seminar on Tourism and Hospitality in Asia, while Llinks Law Offices welcomed students for a session on Marketing and Business in China, presented by White Caviar Founders Jan Van Loon and Susan Yang. Huiye Law received our member MSA 's experts Timo Achterbosch and Guilherme Raposo - EMBA for a discussion on Business and Company Types in China. DaWo Law Firm Shanghai featured their MD Philippe Snel, hosting a seminar on "Business in China" and "Your Personality Influences Professional success" alongside Wise Wings ’ Founder Ruddy Swinnen. JET IT Services - Managed IT Services Provider in China Sjoerd Janssen led a seminar on IT in China. These sessions offered students the opportunity to engage with industry experts and gain insights.
In the evening, the Chamber hosted its annual 'Academic & Professional Reception' at the Shanghai Diamond Exchange Center. The students were hereby invited to mix and mingle with representatives from our Belgian community in Shanghai, Chinese officials, as well as get a taste of Chinese culture, featuring a total of 240+ participants.
The highlight of the evening were the speeches by Governor Carl Decaluwe, Consul General Pascal Buffin and the Chamber’s DGM Jonathan Xu, who emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural and academic exchanges between Belgium and China.
