On June 10, 2025, participants of the 2025 Inter2China Winter & Spring program were invited to a certificate ceremony hosted at the Belgian Consulate in Shanghai, organized by the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China.

Inter2China is an initiative designed to connect international students with companies operating in China. By offering internship placements within local-international enterprises, the program aims to promote cross-border learning, business integration and long-term cooperation.

The event began with a welcoming speech by the Consul of Economic and Political Affairs of Consulate General of the Kingdom of Belgium in Shanghai Mr. Frédéric Van Kerrebroeck, who emphasized the strong diplomatic and historical ties between China and International students.

Most notably, Mr. Van Kerrebroeck recognized the attendees as the very first generation of students to take part in this pioneering initiative. This “pilot wave” is seen as an important milestone in the Chamber’s broader efforts to strengthen educational and cultural ties between the China and the rest of the world.

Following the formalities, participants enjoyed an informal drink reception in the classic setting of the consulate, fostering warm exchanges between students, Chamber representatives, and diplomatic staff.

This event stands as a symbolic conclusion to the first edition of Inter2China, while paving the way for future cohorts to explore, learn, and grow across borders.

“Students who are interested in experiencing Chinese culture and an international immersion should really consider joining this program”, added Benelux Chamber Marketing Manager Kim Steen. “This is a life-changing experience which should be considered as a compulsory part of any major.”

With the success of this first edition, Inter2China positions itself as a unique and transformative opportunity for the next generation of globally minded talent
