We’re talking about Elliot, the renowned Belgian magician who has been part of Shanghai’s business ecosystem since 2016. Elliot’s journey didn’t begin with a clear direction - like many of us, he wasn’t sure what path to follow when he was younger. But life introduced him to people who opened the door to an entirely new world: at just 13 years old, he discovered magic and from that moment on, his fingers never stopped moving! He trained relentlessly, driven by a deep desire to master his craft.

In 2016, Elliot made the bold decision to move China. His passion for both languages and magic led him to combine the two, using them as a bridge to explore a new culture and language. He arrived in Shanghai without knowing the language or customs – only having curiosity and determination, something that still defines him today. For two years, he performed in a high-end theatre, while learning from top magicians on the side. His fast learning and full-time dedication helped him to establish a strong foundation in a whole new market: “luxury & corporate magic”. From that moment on, Elliot moved to performing high-end brands such as Cartier, LV and Bulgari.

This allowed Elliot to launch his own luxury-focused events and entertainment company in Shanghai. His concept is to deliver tailor-made, magical experiences for high-end clientele. As he puts it: “The magic must be strong but above all, you need to make people feel connected and joyful.” From large-scale stage shows to intimate close-up and walk-around magic, Elliot creates interactive performances that bring people together. Through dazzling shows and consistent excellence, he quickly made a name for himself.

Today, he is fluent in over 9 languages, including Mandarin and Shanghainese. Elliot performs and hosts events using each of them with remarkable ease. His international background and multilingual abilities have allowed him to connect with diverse audiences and clients across China.

Elliot is now a leading name in magical entertainment across the country, with a presence in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and beyond. The world’s most prestigious luxury brands trust him to “levitate” their events including Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Apple, Porsche, and many more. In 2023, he hosted the Benelux Chamber of Commerce Gala as well, further establishing his reputation as a global showman focused on the Asian market.

But for Elliot, it’s not just about the tricks. His deeper message is clear: magic is a bridge, a way to connect cultures, to share joy, and to create unforgettable moments. “Chinese audiences are still very interested in cultural exchange,” he says. “It’s not just about magic. It’s about sharing a moment between foreigners and Chinese people. About representing your country while learning from another. This is the same when doing business in China.”
