Brussels Airport visits China and...
On October 26th, the Benelux Chamber of Commerce was invited by Flanders Investment & Trade and the Province of Vlaams-Brabant (Flemish Brabant) to attend a session of their currently ongoing Road Show through China. This delegation is led by FIT, Brussels Airport and the Province of Vlaams-Brabant, joined by a number of Belgian companies such as Nina Trans and AviaPartner. The delegation was also headed by Vice Governor of Vlaams-Brabant Mr. Tom Dehaene.
During their roadshow, all involved parties are seeking to strengthen their connection and bond with their Chinese partners and are promoting their services in Belgium. During this specific part of the Road Show, Brussels Airport informed its Chinese partners about the new services they’ve added during the past 3 years, as well as sustainable incentives that have been implemented at Brussels Airport. As of today, Sichuan Airlines has 6 flights per week, delivering cargo to and from Belgium. The cargo mainly contains cross-border e-commerce affiliated products, as well as Belgian luxury products. All involved parties have stressed out the need for each other, as demand slowly rises again for products from each side of the world.
“Brussels Airport is an excellent international air freight hub due to its strategic location in Europe, providing efficient access to major markets”, says a Managing Director from Brussels Airport. “It offers state-of-the-art cargo facilities and a well-connected road and rail network. Additionally, its customs procedures and services ensure smooth and fast cargo handling, making it a preferred choice for businesses worldwide.”
Hope for Travelers to Belgium
Jonathan Xu, Business Development Director of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce asked the delegation of Brussels Airport whether there is any chance for a reinstalment of a direct flight between Shanghai (PVG) and Brussels (ZAV). “Currently, we are negotiating with Juneyao Airlines regarding a direct flight between Shanghai and Brussels. We hope to achieve some results early next year”.
