The Benelux Chamber of Commerce and UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) are delighted to extend a sincere invitation to our member companies active in the agricultural sector to participate in the 2nd World Expo on Digital Agriculture. This event is set to take place in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, from September 20th to 23rd, 2024.
Following the successful 1st World Expo on Digital Agriculture held in April 2023 in Weifang City, Shandong Province, the upcoming expo promises to be even more impactful. The inaugural event saw participation from over 40 agricultural technology companies worldwide, alongside senior government officials and representatives from international organizations across 36 countries. This three-day summit drew tens of thousands of attendees, including leaders from multiple central government ministries in China and heads of agricultural departments from various provinces and cities. With extensive coverage from prominent Chinese media outlets like Xinhua News Agency and CCTV, participating enterprises reported positive outcomes in promoting their products, securing new orders, and attracting investments.
The 2024 expo, bolstered by the addition of new partners, will feature two main sections: Digital Agriculture and Rural Development. The exhibition will cover various aspects, including the application of digital agricultural technology, showcasing achievements in digital agriculture and rural development, agricultural supplies, high-quality and specialty agricultural products, rural e-commerce, agricultural service trade, and international cooperation. These sections will provide visitors with a comprehensive overview of the latest trends and advancements in digital technology for agriculture and rural areas.
The expo will serve as an international hub for sharing and exchanging cutting-edge digital agricultural technologies. Highlights of the event include side events such as the International Digital Agriculture Forums and networking sessions with ASEAN countries, Germany, and the U.S., where discussions will focus on the progress of digital agriculture and rural development. Distinguished leaders from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), relevant ministries, and the Sichuan Provincial Government will also grace this esteemed event.
