Decoding Biotechnology in China
China is rapidly becoming a global leader in biotechnology, driven by societal challenges such as climate change, an ageing population, and rising healthcare costs. The country has made biotechnology a national priority, with significant investments in R&D across fields including DNA sequencing, precision medicine, automation, and medical AI.
Within this context, the Netherlands Innovation Network China is organising an Innovation Mission to China in 2026, with the primary goal of fact-finding to assess technological developments in China’s medical biotechnology sector. NBSO China will collaborate in organising the local programme.
By engaging with industry and research experts, participants will gain valuable insights into China’s biotech landscape, focusing on medical and pharmaceutical applications, the role of automation in the industry and the country’s leadership in clinical trials.
Aligned with the Netherlands’ 2025 Biotech Vision and the National Technology Strategy, this Innovation Mission provides a valuable opportunity to deepen understanding of China’s rapidly evolving innovations, particularly in the country’s main biotech hotspots.
Companies and researchers interested in exploring China’s technological advancements in the medical biotechnology sector can find more information on NBSO China's LinkedIn page.
