Haiyan, Zhejiang Province — DOMO Engineered Materials part of the DOMO Group, has announced the start of construction of a new Asia Application Development Center at its production site in Haiyan, Zhejiang Province, China.

Developed in close collaboration with DOMO’s European R&D teams, the center will strengthen the company’s global innovation network and support customers across China, Southeast Asia, and the wider Asian region. Preparatory work is already underway, including talent recruitment and early-stage equipment installation.

Strengthening Local Presence to Address Global Industry Challenges

Against a backdrop of structural changes in the global manufacturing industry — driven by the energy transition, geopolitical developments, and supply chain reconfiguration — some of DOMO Chemicals’ European operations are facing temporary financial challenges. By contrast, the Chinese market continues to demonstrate steady and healthy growth. DOMO’s manufacturing operations in China have delivered sustained efficiency improvements for several consecutive years.

In this context, Zhejiang DOMO Engineering Materials Co., Ltd. continues to strengthen its capabilities in China, with a strong focus on the TECHNYL® brand. With more than 70 years of experience in polyamide development and application, the TECHNYL® portfolio includes engineering polymers based on PA6 and PA66, as well as PA6.10, PA6.12, and PA6T, along with blends and copolymer solutions for injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding. These materials offer excellent thermal management and hydrolysis resistance and are widely used in applications such as connectors, photovoltaics, low-altitude drones, robotics, and other advanced industrial fields.

“China has always been a cornerstone of our global strategy,” said Ron Bult, General Manager Asia. “This investment reflects our long-term confidence in the Chinese and Asian markets and our commitment to supporting customers in high-growth areas such as new energy vehicles, renewable energy, energy storage, and smart living.”

The new center will leverage the company’s localized production base and mature supply chain to accelerate the transition from research and development to large-scale manufacturing, improving responsiveness to customer needs across Asia.

The Haiyan site holds IATF 16949 and GMP certifications, with nearly 30 locally produced materials approved under UL Yellow Card certification, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

In line with China’s “dual-carbon” objectives, the Haiyan plant continues to advance sustainable manufacturing. Its on-site photovoltaic power plant has already generated more than 3.27 million kWh of clean electricity, covering over 30% of the facility’s electricity demand.

The Asia Application Development Center marks a key milestone for DOMO Zhejiang, reinforcing the company’s focus on localized innovation, sustainable growth, and close collaboration with customers across Asia.
