Intern2China: Briding Global Talent

Author: Shanghai BenCham

Looking to bring in smart, international talent without wasting time on recruitment?

That’s exactly why we created Intern2China. A program by the Benelux Chamber that connects motivated students and young professionals from around the world with companies in China ready to offer them a real, meaningful internship experience.

And yes, if you’re a Benelux Chamber member, it’s completely free to participate.

What is Intern2China?
Intern2China is a structured program designed to match companies in China with high-potential interns from top universities globally. These young, ambitious individuals come to China seeking professional experience in a new and dynamic environment.

What makes them stand out? They’re multilingual, adaptable, culturally curious, and bring fresh energy to any team. Whether it’s marketing, engineering, business development, logistics, hospitality, sustainability, or design... these interns are ready to contribute.

You can learn more about the program itself at intern2china.org, where we outline how the process works for both students and host companies.

Why should your company get involved?

Intern2China was built to be low-effort, high-impact for host companies. Here’s what you get:

  • Pre-selected candidates: We handle the initial screening and only send you profiles that match your needs.

  • Flexible duration: Most internships last between 3 and 6 months, with starting dates throughout the year.

  • Global mindset: These interns bring international perspectives and often speak three or more languages.

  • No fees, no hassle: For Benelux Chamber members, participating in the program and listing your internships is completely free.

We also take care of the admin: internship agreement templates, visa guidelines, and tips on onboarding foreign interns in a Chinese work environment.

Real value for real work

Our interns work on real tasks—assisting with marketing campaigns, customer engagement, supporting operations, or even conducting market research in their native languages for your European expansion. Some companies use interns to gain fresh insights into local challenges, while others build longer-term recruitment pipelines.

Feedback so far? Companies love the energy, professionalism, and fresh ideas interns bring. Many interns end up staying longer or returning after graduation.

Who's behind it?

Intern2China is run directly by the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, in collaboration with universities and partner organizations globally. We take this program seriously because we see it as a win-win-win:

→ For students, it’s a life-changing international experience.
→ For companies, it’s a low-risk way to access new talent.
→ And for the community, it’s a powerful tool for fostering global–China connections.
