From buzzing showrooms to standout runway moments, Shanghai Fashion Week delivered a bold showcase of creativity, diversity, and rising talent.

Following the Benelux Pavilion Event on the 19th of March 2026, Design Week kicked off with energy and international flair.

On the 25th of March 2026, a member of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce attended Ontimeshow at the vibrant West Bund, alongside Gerlinde Verherbrugghen from MMUUZZ, a valued member of the Chamber. With a strong presence in China’s fashion ecosystem, MMUUZZ is a Shanghai-based consultancy that supports international brands in market entry, branding, and retail development, acting as a key bridge between global designers and the Chinese market. The showroom was dynamic and fast-paced, featuring a wide range of primarily Chinese brands such as No Direction, Senpop, Luozheng, Maison Amory, and OOAK. While rooted in the local scene, the selection stood out for its diversity, reflecting an increasingly open and inclusive fashion landscape.

Serax – SERAX

As the Benelux Chamber of Commerce, it was particularly meaningful to identify a Benelux presence within the showroom. Among the international participants, the Belgian design brand Serax stood out. Founded in 1986, Serax is internationally recognized for its contemporary homeware, furniture, lighting, and tableware, developed in collaboration with leading designers. Its presence not only reinforced the global reach of Ontimeshow but also highlighted the growing visibility of Benelux creativity in Shanghai’s dynamic fashion and design scene.

The visit continued at ROOM ROOM, an exclusive, buyer-oriented space. Brands including ANGEL CHEN, BY MALENE BIRGER, HAIZHEN WANG, self-portrait, and BAN XIAOXUE illustrated the strong link between creativity and commercial opportunity.

On March 29, the member of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce attended the Markgong 2026 Fall collection Runway Show, organized by Labelhood. Designed by Mark Gong, the collection stood out for its bold, contemporary vision.

The momentum continued on March 30 with the SHUSHU/TONG Fall and Winter 2026 collection Runway Show, also organized by Labelhood. Created by designers Liushu Lei and Yutong Jiang, SHUSHU/TONG showcased a collection that, while rooted in the Chinese fashion scene, stood out for its strong sense of diversity and inclusivity, blending femininity with a modern, subversive edge.

From curated showrooms to boundary-pushing runway shows, Shanghai Fashion Week 2026 reaffirmed its role as a powerful platform for a new, globally minded generation of designers.
