Author: Benelux Chamber Shanghai

It was a night to remember! Last night, the Benelux Chamber of Commerce East China | Shanghai hosted the 2023 Best of Benelux Awards Dinner at the Intercontinental Expo Hotel in Pudong, the first edition since 2019. We had the honour to welcome Mr. Bruno Jans , Consul General of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Belgium, Mrs. Marjo Crompvoets, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Shanghai, and Mr. David S., Consul of the Luxembourg Consulate General in Shanghai.

We witnessed a very strong field competing for the 2023 KBC Bank & Verzekering "Best Company of the Year" Award, with Belgium Chemical company DOMO Chemicals coming out on top! Domo's great performance and solid presentation helped them clinch victory, We thank KBC Bank & Verzekering Bank for sponsoring this Award as in previous editions of the Best Company competition. Honourable runners-up (and worthy competitors!) were MOOV Logistics, Waste2Wear and Ahlers. Congratulations to all!! The second competition was on an equally high standard, and exciting to watch. Following a tense voting process, the winner of the DaWo Law Firm Shanghai Best Team Award 2023 turned out to be Budweiser Brewing Company APAC ! Congratulations to the Budweiser team - their efforts during the Covid, and on sustainability were factors that were highlighted during the presentation and helped secure the title.

The Best Team Award was kindly sponsored by DaWo Law Firm Shanghai, as in previous years. Honourable runners up in Best Team - all with really strong presentations - were MELEXIS, Brunel and exciting newcomer HAMLET. The Benelux Chamber of Commerce East China | Shanghai would also like to express their sincere appreciation to Gold Event Sponsor Taicang Invest, as well as hub.brussels . The dinner was hosted by Benelux Chamber of Commerce East China | Shanghai Chamber GM Mr. Ian Bennink and Chairman of the Board Mr. Karel Eloot. The opening was a true community event with performances by seven talented BISS school students from year 3-9, including poems in Dutch and piano. Warm thanks goes also to GONVVAMA, Royal Ahrend APAC, ING and Moore - MS Advisory for their support. On the culinary side, we were spoiled for choice: from Swiss Raclette cheese by The Cheesery, white wines generously donated by the Luxembourg Consulate General, Belgian beers from Brouwerij De Halve Maan, Budweiser Brewing Company APAC, Duvel Moortgat, along with Benelux specialities in the shape of fresh handmade stroopwafels and bitterballen.

Special thanks also go to the "Lucky Draw" sponsors of the event, including Royal Dutch, Pierre Marcolini - Chocolatier, The Cheesery, Rituals, and IHG Hotels & Resorts Expo Pudong, for their tremendous support. We are looking forward to the next edition!
