SBBS 2026: China’s Evolving Economy and the Sino-Benelux Business Outlook
The challenges China is facing, both externally as internally, cause for fast-paced changes and diversification in its economic strategy. This is due to a rapidly changing world in terms of international relations, consumer spending habits and priorities of internal markets. At the same time, China is succeeding in achieving economic growth with an increased focus on high-value technological products in sectors as aerospace, advanced semi-conductors, green technology and AI used in major industries. This, together with its efforts to strengthening partnerships with emerging markets, proves that China’s economic market remains dynamic and interesting to foreign businesses, where the Chinese market is too big to be overlooked. Adding to this, China’s 15th five-year plan actively tries to attract global investment by aiming at simplifying foreign investment regulations and promoting foreign investment in specific sectors, which signifies that China is open for business opportunities coming from abroad.
To get an overview of and to analyze the economic climate for businesses based in Belgium, the Netherlands or Luxembourg (‘Benelux’), we present the 2026 Sino Benelux Business Survey (SBBS).
What is the Sino Benelux Business Survey?
The SBBS is an initiative by the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China, supported by MSA, which is conducted with the main aim of providing start-ups, SMEs and larger businesses with insight on the performance and expectations of Belgian, Dutch and Luxembourgish businesses in operating in China.
The main topics covered in the 2026 Sino Benelux Business Survey will include performance over the last year, demographics, business climate, future expectations and much more.
Insight from the Survey
While the scope of the survey is limited to businesses from the aforementioned countries, the insights and knowledge from the results can provide businesses from other countries with a better understanding of the business landscape in China over the previous year and in expectations in the year to come.
The SBBS is also conducted to provide businesses based abroad with insight into the performance of European businesses in the Chinese market.
