Socabelec Showcases Automation Expertise at China Glass 2026
Founded in Belgium and based in Ham-sur-Sambre, Socabelec has been developing advanced technological solutions for over 60 years to improve the performance, safety, and reliability of production lines. The company has progressively specialized in the container glass industry, with recognized expertise in demanding production environments.
Today, it supports glass manufacturers in their transition toward more automated, stable, and controlled operations, reducing reliance on critical manual interventions.
Socabelec, a Belgian company specialized in industrial automation and robotics for the container glass industry, will participate in China Glass 2026, taking place in Shanghai from April 7 to 10, 2026.
Among its flagship solutions is the Swabbing Robot, a robotic system designed to automate the lubrication of molds on IS machines, an operation that has traditionally been manual, sensitive, and repetitive in glass container production. This technology ensures precise and consistent lubrication, improves production stability from the earliest critical stages, particularly during furnace restarts, and reduces variability and losses linked to human intervention. It also enhances operator safety by limiting exposure to hot and hazardous areas and contributes to extending the lifespan of blank molds.
With around one hundred robots installed in more than 15 countries, Socabelec leverages proven technological expertise and solid international experience to support manufacturers in optimizing overall production performance while improving working conditions on the production line.
In a context of accelerating modernization of glass manufacturing plants, particularly in Asia, automation of hot-end operations is becoming a key driver of performance and reliability. At China Glass 2026, Socabelec aims to strengthen its presence in the Asian market and engage with glass manufacturers, industrial partners, and industry stakeholders through concrete use cases and pilot projects adapted to existing production lines.
