Rising Demand for Water Technology in China
The demand for innovative water technologies in China is growing due to significant water challenges, such as shortages, floods, and pollution. At the same time, China’s economy continues to grow rapidly, and the government is imposing increasingly strict environmental regulations.
China is also looking abroad for these technologies. Low entry barriers and positive incentives for foreign companies make it easier to get started in China. Moreover, the Chinese government has allocated billions in its current five-year plan for water infrastructure projects.

Organization
This webinar is organized by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) in collaboration with the Dutch Consulates-General in Shanghai and Guangzhou, and the Netherlands Business Support Offices (NBSOs) in China.
International Corporate Social Responsibility
The Dutch government expects all companies in the Netherlands to conduct business in a socially responsible manner internationally (international CSR). This includes adhering to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
The government promotes international CSR in various ways. For example, if a company wants to apply for subsidies and loans to support their international activities, they must demonstrate that they endorse the OECD Guidelines. Learn more about CSR abroad.
Doing business in China offers opportunities but also presents challenges. These require good preparation, as outlined in CSR in China.
