Welcoming the New Consul General of the Netherlands in Shanghai!

The Benelux Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai is delighted to welcome H.E. Mr. Koen Sizoo as the new Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Shanghai.

Having worked in China before, Mr. Sizoo is familiar with the country, but he stresses that the current moment presents a new chapter. In his introduction on the Consulate General’s official LinkedIn page, he wrote:

“China is changing, the world is changing and the way the Netherlands is looking at these developments is also changing. Shanghai, as the economic centre of one of the most important economies in the world, is right in the middle of all that.”

With this perspective, he aims to further strengthen Dutch–Chinese understanding and cooperation. Alongside his diplomatic mission, he hopes to discover more about Chinese culture and daily life, including its rich cuisine and the growing fencing community.

We are also pleased to share that Consul General Sizoo will join our Welcome Back to Business Drinks on September 19th. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our members and community to meet him in person and extend their own welcome.

We look forward to working with Consul General Sizoo and the Dutch Consulate General in Shanghai, and to strengthening collaboration between Dutch companies, the wider Benelux community, and our partners in China.
